I am glad to commence my two-year tenure as member of the English language arts network (ELAN) Board of directors. I am grateful to Me Goldschneider from Innovations en concert for nominating me, and for the opportunity to contribute to the vitality of the anglophone arts community.
On September 11, 2022, Heritage Day in Québec, I performed a concert at 3 PM at Sainte-Madeleine d’Outremont. Works included selections from the recently released LAUDEM organ anthology: Couturier, Fol, Rea and Smallman. Maud Lewden, soprano, sang a set of baroque and classical music with me as well.
On September 6, 2022, at 8 PM, I conducted the première of “Opposing the motion, version 1, trio”, already recorded with a grant of the Conseil des arts du Canada. The performance was part of a co-production of Innovations en concert et No Hay Banda and took place in La Sala Rossa, 4848, boul. Saint-Laurent in Montréal. The performers were: Claudine Ledoux, mezzo-soprano, Louis-Philippe Bonin, saxophone, and Viviana Gosselin, violoncello
On September 4, 2022, at 2, 3 and at 4 PM Ensemble Paramirabo performed Soundwalk II thrice in the François-Perrault parc in Ville Saint-Michel. The performances were part of a cultural mediation project with Brin d’Elles, spondored by Montréal – Médiation culturelle of Ville de Montréal and coordinated by Julie Legault. I taught four music workshops to the residents, that included fabricating instruments, learning to read music and learning to play some musical instruments. Dr Matthew C. Lane performed “Offrande musicale” for organ on September 4th, 2022 at 10 AM at the Anglican church of All Saints by the Lake in Dorval, Québec
On August 24, between 17h and 20h, Ensemble Paramirabo performed my sound installation Soundwalk II five times at the Parc de Saint-Joseph in Montréal. The performances were part of the official summer programming of the Rivière-des-Prairies-Pointe-aux-Trembles district. You can see videos HERE
